Delays in US Flag Manufacturing
Due to COVID-19, all of the US flag manufacturers are experiencing increased delays in producing American flags to meet demand and build their inventory up. We are doing everything we can to stay well stocked with American-made US flags, but each week is different. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate through this.
AMERICAN FLAG DETAILS
STANDARD SIZE
The standard size American flag is 3ft x 5ft. That size is common for a pole that comes off your house or garage or for a 20ft tall flagpole in your yard. The taller the flagpole, the bigger the flag it's recommended that you fly. We sell only American-made US Flags.
MATERIALS
We stock our American-made US flags in two different materials: nylon and polyester.
Nylon is a lighter weight material and is extremely bright right out of the package. It doesn't take much wind for a nylon flag to fly. Our traditional nylon flags all have embroidered or appliqued stars and each stripe is individually stitched giving it even higher quality.
Polyester material is the most durable for all weather conditions, especially wind. The color is darker out of the packaging, but tends to hold its color the longest. All of our polyester flags have embroidered or appliqued stars and each stipe is individually stitched for even higher quality.
LIFE EXPECTANCY
There's no exact guarantee on how long a flag will last. Each person is flying their flag differently, which can either extend the life of the flag or shorten it. Most of our customers over the years buy a new American flag each year, but some go through two or three a year. If you leave your flag up all the time, it won't last as long as someone who puts it up on special holidays or takes it down during inclement weather. The same holds true for the type of flagpole and the placement of it. If your flagpole has any broken parts on it or is installed near tree branches, the flag isn't going to hold up as long as someone who has it in an open part of their yard on a pole with working parts. That's why we offer a repair service and can fix your flag if it becomes torn or tattered on the end. We sell only American-made US Flags.
PROPER RETIREMENT
If you have a flag that has seen better days, you can drop it off at Toledo Flags where we collect them for the local American Legion post. They use them to teach children how to properly retire the flag throughout the year.
Flag Repairs & Flag Cleaning
Did you know your flag can most likely be repaired before it needs replaced?
Is your flag starting to look tattered on the end? Has one of the grommets come off? Is it looking dirty? Most likely, your flag can be repaired and cleaned and it costs a fraction of the cost of a new one. Even if you bought your flag online or at another store, we'll still fix it! We want to see your flag flying as much as you do.
How do you know if your American flag can be repaired? We hot-knife off the at further part of the tattered flag to seal it up. As long as the remaining part of the stripes is longer than the blue star field (the Union), the flag can be repaired.
Not in the Toledo area? No sweat! You can mail or ship your flag to our store like so many people and companies do around the country and we'll get it fixed and shipped back quickly and at a reasonable cost.
